Upper Mayfield is an interesting stone cottage located on the Derbyshire/Staffordshire border, just minutes away from the picturesque town of Ashbourne in the heart of England. The cottage sleeps up to 6 guests and features an open fire, creating a cozy atmosphere for guests to enjoy. Ashbourne itself boasts Georgian terraces, a 13th-century church, a colorful marketplace, heritage trail, and a variety of cafes and restaurants to explore.

For outdoor enthusiasts, Upper Mayfield is ideally situated near the stepping stones of Dovedale and the stunning views of Thorpe Cloud on the river Dove. Guests can also visit Carsington Water reservoir for birdwatching, water sports, walking, and cycling. The area is surrounded by scenic trails such as Tissington, High Peak, and Manifold, as well as attractions like Chatsworth House, Bakewell, Alton Towers, and National Trust locations including Calke Abbey, Ilam, and the Sudbury Museum of Childhood.
