Gather your group and disconnect from modern life when you stay in this rural bolt hole deep in the Edale Valley.
You really will be staying ‘off the beaten track’ in this 20-sleeper bunkhouse; its isolated location, deep in the Edale Valley, means there are no public roads leading to it. A single, narrow track will guide you to this rural hideaway, where you’ll be surrounded only by working farmland, grazing sheep and a tumbling stream at the bottom of the garden.
Inside offers plenty of space to relax among its rustic exposed beams and low doorways. You’ll have three bedrooms to divide into and a communal living and dining area with sofas and a cosy log burner to huddle around. There’s even a payphone for when your phone signal drops out.
Its location, in the heart of the Peak District, means you’ll be in perfect walking and cycling territory. The fluffy moorland and jagged gritstone of Dark Peak can be walked to in an hour or driven to in 15 minutes. From here you can also hike to stargazing haven Mam Tor, which has some of the darkest skies in the UK.
