Norbury Manor really lives up to its name. Inside you’ll find a luxury interior with fine period furnishings, dark panelled walls and stained glass windows. As a Grade I listed building, it’s of exceptional historical interest where groups of 10+ can live in luxury for a week or so. Although the manor is large in size, it oozes cosiness in its ‘snug’ where a large open fire warms the room.
Norbury Manor sits in a medieval knot garden with views over the Peak District. From here walks around the rest of the garden and out to a woodland area can be easily accessed. The White Peak area of the Peak District is a short drive, where you can discover its lush green valleys and limestone caves.
Take the 10 mile walk to Thor’s Cave, which starts at Wetton village, just a 30 minute drive from the manor. You could also explore some of the other nearby historical properties including Kedleston Hall and Winster Market House. As a guest of the cottage enjoy free entry to Sudbury Hall and Museum of Childhood.
Self-catering cottage holidays in the UK and Ireland can still be a green option. You can have the comforts of home and the flexibility to do what you want; when you want - without the hassles of air travel!
