The cottage has been restored to a high specification, with original features preserved.
The cottage is centrally heated using biomass wood pellets and includes a small shower room and toilet upstairs, as well as a quaint bathroom with a toilet, shower, and bath downstairs. The kitchen is equipped with French grey cabinets, French doors leading to a small patio area, and modern appliances such as a dishwasher, electric cooker/hob, washing machine, and fridge freezer. The living room features beams, French doors to the garden and patio area, a fireplace with an electric fire, a three-seater settee, and two leather chairs. Guests can enjoy views of the garden, Solway Coast, Scottish hills, and the ancient Norman village church from the living room.
The cottage is surrounded by a small garden with a barbecue area, shed for storing bikes, and a pebbled yard beyond the patio area. Lily Cottage is the ideal base for touring, walking, and cycling in the area, with farm shops nearby and a wealth of activities to explore. Whether guests prefer a short drive or walking distance adventures, there are plenty of opportunities to enjoy the rural and agricultural region of Carlisle. Nearby attractions include Hadrian's Wall Path - West, Spoilt Spa at Smiths, Lake District National Park, Watchtree Nature Reserve, Knoxwood Wildlife Rescue, and Magic Castle.
