The cottage features a king-size double, a twin, and a single bedroom, along with a bathroom and a ground floor shower room. The open plan living area includes a kitchen, dining area, and sitting area with a woodburner, as well as a second sitting room. Outside, there is off-road parking for two cars and a front raised lawned garden with a veranda and furniture.

Amenities at Glen Side include electric heaters, an open fire, electric oven, induction hob, microwave, Nespresso machine, fridge, freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, TV with Sky Q, and WiFi. Fuel and power are included in the rent, with additional fuel for the open fire and woodburner available locally. Bed linen and towels are also provided. One well-behaved pet is welcome, and smoking is not allowed. The village of Far Sawrey offers a Post Office/store and pub/restaurant, while Bowness and its shops, restaurants, and leisure facilities are just a short ferry ride across the lake.
