Trees

Ambleside, Cumbria

4

Stay amongst the treetops in this stylish 1930s cabin set high above the western shore of Lake Windermere. Completely intertwined with nature, you’ll be able to sit out on its sun terrace and enjoy views of the surrounding woodland where deer occasionally roam. Retreat inside to a cosy space where exposed beams line the ceilings and a log-burner warms the sitting room.

Make the most of your position near the Lake and hire a kayak or boat at the nearby Low Wray Campsite. You can also join a guided canoeing session here too. Mountain bike to Wray Castle or go south of the lake to Claife Viewing Station for majestic mountain scenery.

For restaurants and retail therapy the bustling town of Ambleside is a short drive away. You can also explore its Roman fort, quirky Bridge House and Stagshaw Gardens. Or take a boat trip across the lake to Bowness or visit Beatrix Potter’s former farmhouse, Hill Top, which is just 10 minutes away.
