Snuggle up in this former summer house set in the old kitchen garden of Wray Castle. Sitting just above the western shore of Lake Windermere and surrounded by lush countryside, you’ll have front row seats of the stunning scenery from the sitting room and double bedroom of this two-bedroom retreat. The house is compact but cosy and encloses you into its cabin-like, wood-panelled walls – perfect after those blustery days hiking around the Lakes.

The stunning scenery continues in the front garden and surrounding fields, where glimpses of the mock-Gothic castle can also be seen. Head to the castle for a day out and get involved with some of the events that are held here throughout the year. You can also hire bikes, canoes and rowing boats from nearby Low Wray Campsite or even book on to a guided moonlit canoeing session.

Ambleside, Hawkshead, Grasmere and Coniston are all within a 20 minute drive from the cottage offering shops, lovely pubs and restaurants for when you need a change of pace from all of that activity.
