For serious fell walkers, Great Langdale beckons with high peaks and famous ridge walks.

With a good pub and restaurant in Skelwith Bridge and the Chesters by the River tea room close-by, you have plenty of dining options within walking distance. If you choose to explore further, Ambleside is less than 5 miles away and offers a variety of eateries. You can also hop on board the Windermere Lake Steamers for a relaxing cruise across the water, providing access to Bowness and Lakeside, where you can find attractions for all ages. Outdoor pursuits at Coniston, Grasmere, and Hawkshead are also easily accessible from Park Cottage, making it a wonderful retreat in a delightful part of the country.
