Stay in this charming fellside cottage, once owned by Lake District devotee, Beatrix Potter. The 17th-century cottage has changed little since it was in her ownership, with the cottage range still providing warmth to its rooms and original exposed beams running throughout. It sits at the end of a row of three properties, with views over Little Langdale Tarn and up the valley to Wrynose Pass.
It’s the ideal base for walking and climbing adventures. Enjoy the low level walks around Tarn Hows or take to the high fells of Coniston or Langdale Valley. Also nearby is the very special Sticklebarn pub. With views of the Langdale mountains, visitors can take their beers outside and warm up against an open fire. They’ll even provide blankets too.
Restaurants, pubs, tea-rooms and shops can be found at Coniston, Hawkshead and Ambleside, just a short drive away.
Self-catering cottage holidays in the UK and Ireland can still be a green option. You can have the comforts of home and the flexibility to do what you want; when you want - without the hassles of air travel!
