High Gregg Hall Farm Cottage is a charming two-bedroom property located on a working farm in the picturesque Lyth Valley, situated within the Lake District National Park. Recently refurbished, the cottage combines modern comforts with original features such as exposed wooden beams. The spacious living room boasts comfy reclining sofas, a large log-burning stove, and a wall-mounted Freeview TV. The well-equipped kitchen, dining area, and shower room are located on the ground floor, while upstairs, there are two large bedrooms – one with a double bed and the other with a 3/4 double bed and a single bunk above.
High Gregg Hall Farm has been in the Simpson family for four generations and is currently managed by Mark Simpson with the assistance of his father, Alan. Originally a dairy farm, it now operates as a mixed farm with beef and sheep, as well as growing hay and haylage for the livestock and horses. Guests should note that access to the farm and livestock is restricted without permission, and the cottage features private parking, bike storage, and superfast WiFi. Pets are welcome, with one dog allowed to stay free of charge, and additional dogs accommodated by arrangement.
The village of Underbarrow, where the cottage is located, offers stunning rural scenery and is just a short distance from the market town of Kendal. Two nearby pubs, The Black Labrador and the Punch Bowl at Crosthwaite, provide excellent food and real ales for guests to enjoy. With its cozy atmosphere, modern amenities, and historical ties to the Simpson family's farming legacy, High Gregg Hall Farm Cottage provides a peaceful retreat in the North of England for up to four guests to relax and unwind amidst the beauty of the Lake District.
