Located in Longtown, Cumbria, in the North of England, this vacation home sleeps up to 13 guests in 7 bedrooms. Situated near the River Border Esk, the property offers a picturesque setting with views of beautiful parkland. The house was created from two cottages and a barn, standing in the shadow of a 15th century peel tower. Steeped in history, the area was once part of the debatable land between England and Scotland, with no rule of law until The Act of Union in 1603.

The property is isolated from other dwellings, overlooking Kirkandrews on Esk Church, and can be accessed via a 400m long private tarmac drive with ample parking in the gravelled courtyard. The garden features a lawn with shrubs and trees, and guests can enjoy fishing in the Border Esk by arrangement. The house is pet-friendly, welcoming well-behaved dogs, and offers a tennis court nearby for guests to use.

Ideal for families or groups of friends looking to escape, the house is conveniently located near attractions such as The Roman Wall, Historic Carlisle, and Gretna Green. The Lake District, Ullswater, and the Scottish Borders are easily accessible from the property. Wildlife enthusiasts can enjoy bird watching at Longtown Ponds, along the river, and at the WWT reserve at Caerlaverock, especially during winter and spring when thousands of geese roost there. Bicycles can be hired locally in Longtown for exploring the surrounding area.

In addition to its natural beauty and wildlife, the vacation home offers a range of activities and attractions nearby, including Clan Armstrong Centre, The Sands Centre, Walby Farm Park, and AMF Bowling. Visitors can also explore historical sites such as Drumlanrigg Castle, Floors Castle, and Hermitage Castle, as well as indulge in local treats like Langholm's ice cream and Cashmere bargains in Hawick. With its serene setting and proximity to various amenities, this property provides a peaceful retreat for guests looking to unwind and explore the North of England.
