Located in Penzance, Cornwall, this vacation home sleeps 8 people in 4 bedrooms and is perfect for families, friends, and couples. Due to the COVID crisis, bookings for 2020 are not being accepted, but reservations for 2021 are open. Built in 1875, Longnor is a spacious period property that has been sympathetically renovated while retaining its charm and character. The house is within walking distance of the seafront and town center, making it an ideal location for a relaxing getaway.
The ground floor of the house features a cozy sitting room with a decorative fireplace, a family-sized TV, and a DVD player. The dining room is light and airy, with two sofas for relaxation. The well-equipped kitchen leads to a private deck area, perfect for enjoying a morning coffee. On the first floor, there are three bedrooms, including a super king-size bed and a vintage French double corbeille bed. A large family bathroom with a freestanding bath and shower services these bedrooms. The top floor has a fourth bedroom with three single beds, an en-suite shower room, and sea glimpses over the bay.
Outside, there is a raised deck and a walled garden area for alfresco dining and a BBQ. Longnor is a family home that has been lovingly restored and is now open to visitors during the summer months. While the house is not equipped with modern amenities like a coffee machine or vegetable steamer, it offers a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere with original features and local artwork. Due to the number of stairs in the property, it may be difficult for those with limited mobility to stay here.
In addition to its convenient location near the beach, Penzance offers cultural attractions such as Penlee House Gallery and Museum, as well as family-friendly activities like Trengwainton Garden and Sennen Surfing Centre. Guests can enjoy scuba diving, snorkeling, horse riding, and ecotours in the surrounding area. Longnor is a welcoming and comfortable vacation home that provides a peaceful retreat for visitors looking to explore the beauty of Cornwall.
