There are beautiful sandy beaches in the river Camel estuary, island cruises, fishing trips and nearby surfing, sailing, kayaking, golf and horse riding. The Camel Trail, which leads all the way through to Bodmin along the route of the old railway line, starts from Padstow and is popular with walkers and cyclists who enjoy the scenery and the wildlife through this Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Just down the coast are lovely cliff top walks and a number of glorious sandy beaches - great for surfing and families.
