Just metres from the beach at Port Gaverne sits this former fish cellar. It’s come a long way since its fish salting days and now provides a traditional three-bedroom beach retreat with added Cornish charm. Original slate floors, a stone-walled fireplace and low doorways give a particular historic character to this cottage, whilst the courtyard and walled garden provide lots of space for lounging outside.
You’ll be staying in a traditional Cornish hamlet where small fishing boats line the sands and white-washed, slate-roofed cottages nestle on its winding streets. At low tide, rock pools and secret caves emerge from the craggy rocks, whilst high tide brings deep waters that allow for diving adventures.
The South West Coast Path runs past your doorstep, so you’ll be on the pathway to the rest Cornwall. From here you can walk to the lively harbour village of Port Isaac in 10 minutes or for longer walks head west to Lundy Bay and Polzeath surfing beach.
Self-catering cottage holidays in the UK and Ireland can still be a green option. You can have the comforts of home and the flexibility to do what you want; when you want - without the hassles of air travel!
