Nearby towns such as Fowey, Charlestown, Lostwithiel, and St Austell provide a variety of shops, cafes, and restaurants, while popular attractions like the Eden Project and The Lost Gardens of Heligan are within easy reach. The area also boasts several beaches, including Porthpean, Carlyon, Par, and Polkerris, as well as North coast beaches like Polzeath and Daymer Bay.

The property features a beautifully maintained woodland garden with a lawn by the River Par, as well as a covered terrace for guests to relax and enjoy the sounds of nature. Due to its proximity to the river, children and pets will need supervision. The property also offers parking for 2 cars and can be booked with its sister cottage, Cider Press. Pets are welcome for an additional fee, and the property is suitable for a maximum of 4 adults, 2 children, and an infant. Unfortunately, there is no electric vehicle charging available due to limited mains electricity supply.
