A quiet and luxurious cottage, with access to Cotehele's house and garden.
Cotehele Dairy Cottage and its neighbouring buildings, including the cart shed, were built between 1840 and 1883 on a track approaching Cotehele House, the Tudor ancestral home of the Edgcumbe family. The cottage now offers comfortable and fresh holiday accommodation at the heart of the Cotehele estate, with lovely walks and lots to discover from the doorstep.
Full of character the cottage has open beams ceilings that slope into the eaves and a charm reminiscent of the former dairy.
Downstairs, at the front of the cottage, there’s a cloakroom leading into the dining room. Step up here into a cosy sitting room with a woodburning stove and a stable door where you can sit on the bench to enjoy an expanse of ancient oak trees and natural play area for children. The airy kitchen at the rear of the cottage has a back door where flagstone pathways take you to the enclosed, lawned garden with apple trees, wildflower borders and a seating area.
There is also a ground floor bathroom with roll-top bath and walk-in shower ideal for the first-floor mezzanine bedroom with its original stonework and double aspect views of the countryside.
Self-catering cottage holidays in the UK and Ireland can still be a green option. You can have the comforts of home and the flexibility to do what you want; when you want - without the hassles of air travel!
