Verity is a charismatic holiday cottage located at a historic lighthouse on a scenic headland in Padstow, Cornwall, South West England. This cottage is part of a collection of four accommodations situated between the picturesque sandy beaches of Harlyn and Constantine Bays, just four miles west of Padstow. The lighthouse itself, built in 1847, has undergone various upgrades, including electrification in 1973 and automation in 1995, although the site remains closed to the public, ensuring a serene environment for guests.
The cottages, including Verity, are semi-detached and positioned beneath a headland that rises 75 feet above the sea, providing stunning views of the ocean and opportunities to observe local fishing boats as they navigate in and out of Padstow. Access to the cottages is via a private one-mile-long road, enhancing the seclusion and tranquility of the location. At the front of the property, there is a communal tarmac forecourt that offers parking for guests.
At the rear of the cottages, guests can enjoy a shared, walled grass area that overlooks the sea, although it is fenced at the cliff edge for safety reasons. Due to safety concerns, it is advised that guests refrain from using this space. The South West Coast Path runs along the headland, providing an excellent opportunity for outdoor enthusiasts to explore the coastal scenery and venture towards Padstow.
In addition to Verity, the site features three other holiday cottages: Brook Cottage, Pelorus Cottage, and Nimbus Cottage, each accommodating up to four guests. This collection of cottages offers a perfect retreat for families or small groups looking to enjoy the natural beauty of Cornwall while experiencing the unique charm of staying in a lighthouse setting.
