Sally Port Cottage

Truro, Cornwall

4

Located in Truro, Cornwall in the South West of England, Sally Port Cottage at St Anthony's Lighthouse is a charming retreat managed in association with Trinity House. Situated at the tip of the Roseland Peninsula, this single dwelling can accommodate up to four guests and is accessed via a steep 300-meter tarmac path leading down to the rocks from the headland above where the car park is located. The lighthouse, famously featured in the children's television program 'Fraggle Rock', offers a unique and private stay with no public access.

The cottage features an observation room detached from the property, providing stunning sea views through large windows. Ideal for a romantic getaway, the accommodation is suitable for children over 14 years old and welcomes two well-behaved dogs for a small additional charge. Guests can enjoy the cozy atmosphere with an electric wood-effect stove in the observation room, perfect for watching storms roll in over the sea.

Due to the remote location, guests should be aware of limited mobile signal and Wi-Fi availability, which is suitable for light browsing but may not support streaming or gaming. The access roads to the lighthouse site are narrow with limited passing places, and guests should exercise caution when using the steep path from the car park, which is not suitable for disabled or infirm guests. Additionally, maintenance staff may visit the property at any time for regular upkeep of the operational lighthouse equipment.

Certain heritage features of the building, such as steps, stairs, and floor levels, may not comply with modern building standards, so guests are advised to familiarize themselves with the premises upon arrival. Barbecues are not provided, but guests are welcome to bring their own, following safety precautions outlined in the arrival information. However, fireworks, drones, and remote-controlled flying equipment are not permitted on the premises. Overall, Sally Port Cottage offers a unique and unforgettable experience for those seeking a peaceful and secluded getaway on the stunning Roseland Peninsula.
