Nimbus is one of four holiday cottages located at a historic lighthouse on a scenic headland between Harlyn and Constantine Bays, just four miles west of Padstow, Cornwall. This charming destination is set in the South West of England and offers a peaceful retreat for up to four guests. The lighthouse itself, built in 1847, has undergone several upgrades, including electrification in 1973 and automation in 1995, although the site remains closed to the public, ensuring a tranquil atmosphere for visitors.
The cottages are semi-detached, with Nimbus situated alongside three other cottages: Brook Cottage, Verity Cottage, and Pelorus Cottage, all accommodating four guests. The lighthouse is centrally positioned, providing a unique backdrop for the cottages. Guests can enjoy a communal tarmac forecourt for parking at the front, while the rear features a shared, walled grass area that overlooks the sea. However, for safety reasons, it is advised that guests refrain from using this space, especially given its proximity to the cliff edge.
Access to the cottages is via a private one-mile-long road, which enhances the sense of seclusion and tranquility. Perched 75 feet above the sea, the location offers stunning views of the ocean, where guests can often spot fishing boats navigating in and out of Padstow harbor. The area is ideal for those looking to immerse themselves in nature while enjoying the coastal scenery.
For outdoor enthusiasts, the South West Coast Path runs around the headland, leading towards Padstow, making it convenient for guests to explore the beautiful coastline and its surroundings. The pet-friendly policy of Nimbus allows visitors to bring their furry companions along, making it a suitable choice for families or groups looking to enjoy a holiday together in a picturesque setting.
