Nimbus Cottage at Trevose Head Lighthouse in Padstow, Cornwall, is one of four holiday cottages available at the lighthouse, which was built in 1847 and is located on a headland between the sandy beaches of Harlyn and Constantine Bays. The cottages are semi-detached, with fine views of the sea and fishing boats coming in and out of Padstow. The site is not open to the public, and the cottages are accessed via a one-mile-long private road.
The cottages at Trevose Head Lighthouse include Brook Cottage, Verity Cottage, and Pelorus Cottage, all of which sleep four guests. Up to two well-behaved dogs are welcome for a small additional charge, and two travel cots and highchairs are available on request. Guests should be aware that the lighthouse does not have a fog signal and that mobile signal is very limited on the site.
Guests at Nimbus Cottage should be prepared for narrow access roads with limited passing places, as well as the possibility of overhanging vegetation due to cutting restrictions. The lighthouse and equipment require regular maintenance, so visits by maintenance staff may occur at any time during the year. While the accommodation is on the ground floor, there are internal steps and level changes within the property.
A barbecue is not provided, but guests are welcome to bring their own, subject to safety precautions outlined in the arrival information. Fireworks, drones, and remote controlled flying equipment are not permitted on the site. The WiFi service may be intermittent, and streaming and gaming may not be possible due to the remote location of the cottages. Guests are advised to familiarize themselves with the heritage building on arrival and to exercise caution accordingly.
