Follow the winding river up from the harbour and you’ll find this former pilchard cellar nestling on its banks. The white-washed building houses three holiday homes – The Clinker occupying part of the first floor.
The highlight of this one-bedroom nook has to be its postcard-perfect window views. From the dining area a scene of the river meandering through the towering headlands unfolds. The Clinker is in the heart of Boscastle, where you’ll be able to wander around its old pubs and crooked cottages.
You can also loop onto the South West Coast Path where the cliffs of Penally Point and the wooded Valency Valley, rich in Thomas Hardy history, unravel. The closest sandy beach is Trebarwith Strand, which is just five miles to the south west.
Self-catering cottage holidays in the UK and Ireland can still be a green option. You can have the comforts of home and the flexibility to do what you want; when you want - without the hassles of air travel!
