Penarvon Cabin

Burrowing amongst the trees, above the wild Penarvon Cove is this romantic little hideaway. You’ll be practically undisturbed on this small secret beach with only the sound of the waters lapping the shores breaking the silence. Inside the tiny wooden cabin reveals a snuggly open-plan kitchen, dining and living area complete with a log-burner effect electric fire. Its double-bedroom has views over the Helford River and beyond.  

Walk down to the village at Helford for its traditional thatched pub and post office. A circular walk behind the cabin leads through woodland and past the commemorative chapel of St Francis on the water's edge. 

There are plenty of things to do along the Helford River and because it’s sheltered from the Atlantic gales, you’ll have the benefit of being in one of the mildest corners of the country. If you fancy a change of scenery though, head to Truro, Cornwall’s only city.
