The barn is situated in an elevated position on a granite spur overlooking Ambleside, offering peace and tranquility with only the sound of the nearby Stock Ghyll Beck at night. It is located in the Ambleside Conservation Area and on the Ambleside Heritage Trail, with virtually no passing traffic and a short walk to the town center. Ambleside is surrounded by mountains and the head of England's longest lake, making it a hub for adventure sports such as fell walking, cycling, climbing, sailing, and more. The town also boasts numerous outdoor retailers, bookshops, restaurants, galleries, and coffee shops.
