For a true ‘getaway’, off the beaten track, Foel Gopyn is just that. It sits alone in the landscape 450 ft above and a mile away from the nearest village. Much care has been taken to preserve its historic charm. It houses traditional interiors complete with a log burner and its limited electricity is supplied by a generator. It’s the perfect place to spend a week far away from the stresses of urban life. 

Head into the bucolic village of Ysbyty Ifan. Here you’ll find a traditional way of life where its remoteness has helped to foster a close local community. You may even hear the locals talking in Welsh as it’s thought to be the heartland of the language. 

Further afield, the popular town of Betws y Coed, is just eight miles from the cottage. Explore the town’s wealth of independent shops, pretty tearooms and local attractions, including the nearby Conwy Falls. If climbing Snowdon is on your bucket list, its hiking trails are just a 30 minute drive from here.
