Whooper Cottage is a charming and cosy cottage located in Ely, Cambridgeshire, in the East of England. It sleeps 4 people in 2 lovely bedrooms and features an open fire in the sitting room. The cottage is set in acres of lush countryside, providing a tranquil and beautiful setting for guests to enjoy. Whether guests want to relax and recharge, explore the surrounding countryside, or visit nearby historic towns like Ely and Cambridge, Whooper Cottage serves as an ideal base for a memorable stay.
The cottage offers ample space for family or friends, with two double bedrooms and a master bathroom upstairs, as well as a spacious sitting room with a log burner, a fully equipped kitchen, and a separate dining room downstairs. Guests have full and exclusive use of the entire cottage and will not be disturbed during their stay. The cottage is paired with Bewick Cottage, sharing large gardens and grounds, but each cottage has its own entrance. Both cottages can be rented together for larger groups of up to 8 people.
Surrounded by beautiful and serene countryside, the cottages are close to the Ouse Washes and WWT Welney, a bird watcher's paradise with diverse species of birds year-round. In winter, migratory Bewick and Whooper swans from Siberia and Iceland visit, while summer brings snipe, lapwing, redshank, and other bird species. The cottages are also near the historic town of Ely, known for its market, river walks, boat trips, and the magnificent Ely Cathedral. Private and secure parking is available for guests, and the coast is just an hour's drive away, with Cambridge and Bury St Edmunds also within easy reach.
Please note that the cottage does not accommodate groups of male friends or stag parties, and groups of friends under 30 are also not permitted. Well-behaved, house-trained dogs may be allowed with prior approval and additional charges.
